Create a Spotify Pre-Save Campaign

With AE, you can create a Spotify pre-save campaign that delivers a selected track or album once it goes live to members who opted-in to the campaign. Before you start, you will need to create a custom segment to group all members that opt-in to your pre-save campaign. See our Custom Segments article for instructions.

Add a custom spotify activity to your segment

1. Navigate to the Segments page of your dashboard by selecting Segments in the top menu or quick links section.
   
   
   
2. Click Manage for the pre-save segment.
   
   
   
3. Scroll down and click Create new activity.
   
   
   
4. Enter a descriptive name for the activity.
   
   
   
5. Activity score is a number from 1 (default value) to 10 that allows AE to weight the activities. The higher the value, the more important an activity is.
   
   
   
6. The Frequency of activity recorded per member field determines how often AE will record an action done by a member. If you leave this field blank, AE will record every time a member does the action. The Frequency drop down allows you to set a time period for the frequency of activity limit.
   
   
   
7. Choose a date range for the segment if you want the activity tracking to turn off automatically on a certain date.
   
   
   
8. Under Activity details, choose Spotify as the channel.
   
   
   
9. Under Select an activity template, choose either Pre-saved a specific album on Spotify or Pre-saved a specific track on Spotify.
   
   
   
10. You will be prompted to enter either the Spotify Track ID and Track Name or Spotify Album ID and Album Name.
    
    
    

    IMPORTANT: When the album goes live, you will need to return to this page and click the Deliver Album/Track to Members button.

    
    
11. Click the Save activity button and you will now see the activity on the segment's page.
    
    

Testing the campaign

1. Create a test member by registering and opting in to the segment you created.
   
   
2. Navigate back to the pre-save segment and scroll down to the Activity List. Click the pencil button to edit the activity.
   
   
3. You should see a green Deliver to Your Members button. When you click this button, AE will create a cron task in the bot processor. The task will automatically loop over each user in the segment, adding the selected track to album to their Spotify library. The track or album should now be added to your test member's Spotify library.

Monitoring the campaign

As the campaign runs: 

• Each successful addition will show a green checkmark next to the track in your Spotify app.
• An activity is recorded against the member for each successful track/album addition.

Once the track or album has been added for all members:

• The cron task on the bot processor is deleted automatically.
• A success message will appear in the console, confirming the campaign is complete.
